Greg Broussard p.k.a Egyptian Lover, is a pioneering hip-hop musician, producer and DJ.
Revered as a master of the Roland TR-808, in 2024 he celebrates four decades of pushing drum machines, synthesizers and turntables to their limits while imbuing hip-hop beats with the spirit of funk and the spark of electro.
Broussard first stepped on stage as a DJ, playing across LA alongside Ice-T with hip-hop crew Uncle Jamm’s Army before beginning his recording career in 1982. Drawing influence from the electric energy of Prince and the futurism of Kraftwerk, he released visionary singles like ‘Egypt, Egypt’ and ‘Freak-A-Holic’ that merged electrofunk and hip-hop, quickly becoming staple cuts for DJs across America.
Continuing to release a series of LPs throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s before taking a break from the music scene, he made a return in the new millennium, releasing an anthology on the cult hip-hop label Stones Throw, performing dates with M.I.A. and reaffirming his reputation as an innovative artist and an electrifying performer: he’s since put on acclaimed live performances and DJ sets at some of the most coveted venues and festivals in the world, as well as releasing several viral Boiler Room moments.
Egyptian Lover released a new album ‘1985’ in 2018, along with the follow up LP ‘1986’ in 2021 on his long-running label Egyptian Empire, both to critical acclaim. Since these releases, he has continued to treat fans to a variety of electrifying singles and remixes, while bringing his unique hybrid live performance - featuring his coveted 808 drum machine, vinyl selections and live vocals - to the likes of Berghain Berlin DE, Lux Fragil Lisbon PT, Printworks London UK, Kappa FuturFestival Turin IT, Polifonic Festival Puglia IT, Fabric London UK, Blå Oslo NO, Kaiku Helsinki FI, Frankhan Istanbul TK and C12 Brussels BE.

Stimulator Jones, aka Samuel Lunsford, is most comfortable jamming in his home studio to some of the soul, disco, dub and R&B tracks that have influenced him over the years. He particularly loves to sing along to “You Are My Starship” by Norman Connors, perform slap bass with The Brothers Johnson and play laidback beats in his bathrobe. A singer and instrumentalist, Lunsford was born, raised, and still lives among the nature and wildlife of Roanoke, VA. “Soon Never Comes” was his debut on Stones Throw.

From hip hop to hippie to straight up house head, Elliott’s life has always revolved around listening to, learning about, digging for and experiencing music. For nearly 15 years, that energy has been pumped into dance music starting in the blog house era and evolving from there to a more open-format style that defined his pre-pandemic BUTTER parties. Since the lockdown of 2020, his journey has led him deeper into the sound of the underground, drawing inspiration from legends like Chez Damier, Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, and Classic Music Co. label co-founder Luke Solomon. This very journey has led him to collaborating with restaurateur & LOSO club creator Brandon Pearson since 2021, as well as opening for and sharing booths with the likes of Eli Escobar, DJ Holographic, DJ Minx, JKriv and Kim Ann Foxman.

Markus Gold, the Virginia-born Music Producer/DJ/Creative Artist started his career in music at the early age of 16. After 6 years of immersing himself into music production he began to learn the artform of turntablism and djing. Now one of the most sought after local talents in central Virginia Markus has turned his slights to fully showcasing his creative talents through stage design, graphic design and content creation.
