Dennis Free is a boundary-pushing DJ and producer whose African & Chinese roots span Oakland to New York City.

Known for his groovy sets and ear for underground gems, Dennis is quickly carving out a name as one of the most exciting tastemakers in dance music. Blending classic house with the raw energy of percussive dance, ghetto tech, and high-BPM grooves, Dennis creates a sound that’s both soulful & rhythmic with driving basslines. His sets—ranging from 120 to 140 BPM—have an undeniable pulse that pulls fans into a communal trance.

His talent has already taken him to iconic stages like London’s Fabric and Colour Factory, sharing bills with notable acts like A-Trak, Loco Dice, Carlita, HoneyLuv, Questlove, Moodyman & more. Alongside features in Rolling Stone, Office Mag and Resident Advisor, Dennis’ influence stretches beyond the booth. As a founding force behind Brooklyn’s Level III Collective—a grassroots movement that started as a humble apartment party which has now evolved into a multifaceted collective known for its vibrant, inclusive community of nextGen clubbers & music fans alike.

Also known for their sold-out events and radio show, Level III and Dennis continue to spotlight emerging voices and deep cuts with guest mixes from rising artists like Pedrose, Black Rave Culture, Odalys, Shekdash, & many others. It’s not just about playing music—it’s about creating space, connecting & celebrating people, telling stories, and shaping the future of dance culture.
